Does the feeder push wire out the contact tip of the gun. John

'Arc out of the gun'... please describe this further. Wire feeds but arc is intermittent? Zap, push, zap, push, etc? Or there's arc then nothing? Zap, stop, no wire, etc?

First let me say thank you for replying. The wire does feed out of the gun no problem but it will not arc ,no zap ,no spark or what ever else you would like to call it.

You tried your friends parts in your machine, did you test yours in his? Sounds like a board, check your voltage in AC and DC. Turn the wire speed way down and trigger it with the lead on the wire and ground. A bad ground should be checked too.

Does all power shut off? Cooling fan, etc?

Thanks for your help with the problem ,and I did end up figuring out what it was . Now if you can give a little advice on where to buy a transformer, it is the main one. And once again thanks for the help.

Do you mean the main transformer that supplies the welding current? If it is bad, I would junk it. What exactly is the problem? Open winding?
