Hi everyone. I just discovered this site while looking for a new mig welder at tractor supply. Itwas on the Hobart boxes. I work in construction as a equipment operator/forman in utility work. I weld as a hobby in the garage. I have a lincoln ac dc stick, a small century wire welder and a gas welding torch set. I picked up a century plasma cutter at a auction the other day but havn"t tried it out yet. I was going to get the hobart 187 mig at tractor supply for $650 but I wound up getting a lincoln 180 pro mig at lowes for $500.It was in the clearence isle, reg. price $660. I would have prefered the hobart but I couldn"t pass up the lincoln. Now I have to find a tank. Talk to guys later.

Welcome! This is a great resource, especially for hobby weldors. The Lincoln is still a good welder and it's hard to pass up something on sale.
Where 'bouts in Nebraska are ya?

Welcome to the forum, Dave, this is a wealth of information for all things welding...glad to have you aboard. There is no such thing as a dumb question, so ask anything...we also have some fun, too. :D

I live in N.E. Neb. Dave. I have been rearanging the garage and have to get the heater setup so I can play in comfort. It"s been cold here lately. The fist thing I want to build is a welding table. I need to build a cart for my new mig too. I have been checking out all the home made stuff here. I can"t wait to get started!

Glad to see you're so excited! Take a lot of notes about what others like to have on their welding cart and table and see what you like from those ideas, then build 'em. Don't be surprised, though, if after a couple months' use, you find that you'd rather have this here, or that there, or really don't need this after all. If you find yourself in that situation, just do what I do - call it a prototype. :D
edit: I should also mention that if you don't already have one in the garage, you should add a fire extinguisher. You never know when a spark will start that roll of paper towels under the welding cart on fire.
Welcome to the forum, Dave, ...:D
Rocky, I'm guessing the OP's name is actually Rudy. ;) Just a guess, though.
