Hi, I'm new to the forum and, to welding in general. Though I'm a tie-jockey (work in an office), I enjoy working with my hands (dare I say real work!)... I recently purchased a Hobart Mig welder after using another brand Mig for a number years and being extremely frustrated with it. What a difference I noticed using the Hobart! I no longer dread having to weld something.

Maybe I've just gotten better, but out of the box I was making better looking welds which I suppose are also stronger. Most welding I do is for auto or tractor repair. Most recently, putting in a new floor in my wife's old Mustang.

By the way, member name is 'galaxieguy' not because I'm 'far out man', but because I have an old Ford Galaxie...

Welcome to the forum, this is a wealth of information for all things welding...glad to have you aboard. There is no such thing as a dumb question, so ask anything...we also have some fun, too. :D

Thanks for the clarification on the handle...we won't have to be looking for aliens or UFO's in NW Indiana, now. :D

Welcome! Do the "Search" tab, and you will find some posts on replacing/repairing floors in cars and trucks. We all benefit from each other's experience and experiences!...and, we REALLY like to hear about each other's dumb moves, bad decisions, and 'lessons learned'!!:p
