So I ordered my HH210 last Friday from NT and the guy behind the counter tells me 7-10 days......OK with new years etc....so today I call up the store to see if they can give me any info.....nothing yet.....they tell me they have a 12-14 working day lead time from Hobart....well I called BS so the customer service rep @ NT tells me "why don't you call Hobart and see for yourself"....so I did....guess what NT didn't place the order until Wednesday....OK ......it shipped this morning  12-14 working days my A$$... Keith took the time to get all the info for me......he even gave me a tracking # for the shipper.....by the way no more UPS ( wonder why )..... I also called another local NT store as the customer service rep @ NT told me they don't stock the HH210......well they have 2 on the shelf and if mine had not already shipped with the SG I'd have picked one of them up.......

Mine came UPS ( back when it was warm weather) and I gave the driver a cold glass of iced tea and had him wait till I had inspected the box and opened it up to look at the welder itself.

I sure wish Id have had my work shed completed and 220 AC in it..etc..etc..and that the HH210 would have been available when I bought my 140. HAD IT been all available ( shed; welder...etc) Id have bought the 210 right off the bat.

I may sell the 140 this coming summer and put the $$ into a Stickmate DC version..? I'll never be doing any thin sheetmetal stuff where Im under the impression a 140 running solid wire and gas REALLY shines...????

I am thinking of the same thing. I am looking for a 220 welder (almost got a MM210) and think a HH210 would be perfect. So do I get rid of my HH140? I just don't have enough experience to make that type of call at the moment. I also wouldn't mind a Stickmate AC/DC. I had one, but UPS destroyed it. Since it came from a private Ebay seller, I just got a refund. I am thinking HH210 and Stickmate could take care of all of my needs.

I sold my HH140 after I ordered the HH210 as it will do just fine down low from what I have gathered from some of the other owners and some of the testers as well of it before it was released....

The 210 does just fine with .023 solid wire. In fact I used L-56 and WA.alloy to test that size in the HH-210. I got a good roll of Wa alloy and it really impressed me. The HH-140 was really good down low too and might be a bit better (really soft arc) then the HH-210? It pretty close though and either will do great.

In my experience, there is only one area were the HH 140 really excels, and this is on thin auto sheet metal. Scott is correct, when set up with an .023 solid wire and C-25, the low end arc for this thin material is extremely soft. This extremely soft arc is very non-agressive, which made if fairly easy for me to run 2" long beads on a butt joint on 22 ga. with good fit up, without burning through. A 1/16" gap was easily handled by pulsing the trigger on and off, waiting for each spot to cool before adding the next.

With solid wire though anything beyond its low end, I wasn't that impressed with the HH 140. There's definitely some room for improvement. For 16ga -1/8" I'd grab the gun on my 187 first over the HH140

The HH 140 is a good flux core unit. So, if I had one, I'd more then likely hang on to it for this application. Keep in mind though, most of my personal use for a welder occurs in a rural enviroment were having a 120V unit set up with flux core could comes in handy on occassion.

Feeling confident that the HH 210 will perform at least as good as the 187 does on thin ga sheet - 1/8", if my intentions were to strictly run solid wire, I'd have no problem selling off a 140.

I will agree the HH140 does very well on the low end as I had no problem butt welding two razor blades with 0.030 FC....I never did run much solid wire in the HH140 as the FC would do just fine on the low end...just more clean up......

.....and I am VERY HAPPY.....not so much as a ding in the box......way to go Holland (shipper)....and all I can say about the HH210 is WOW!!.....this is an awesome unit especially to be in such a small package......it does have some heft to it but really wasn't that bad to lug around once I got it home.....

Mike,
Just wondering how you're liking your HH210 with SG? I considered buying one about 8 months ago but opted instead for an HTP2400 with 3035SG. At the time I was doing quite a bit of AL work in the shop; now I'm doing about 90% of my work on the road; Loading and unloading 250+ lbs of welder & cable has gotten to be a B*TCH! So now I'm thinking of selling my HTP2400 (although it's a SUPER machine and I love it!) and going with the HH210....any suggestions? Also, I've got my 3035 wired up to work with my HTP2400...do you think I'd be able to buy the DP connection/end for my 3035 if I bought a HH210? Thanks,
Clint

Clint,
I love the HH210.....I am new to al but I have done a bit of practice with it and am happy with the re****s...as for hooking up your sg to the HH....you would need to change out the back ends as they are different and possably the plug on the end.....you can look at the sg's owners manual here and look at the part #'s to see if it is different.......the HH210 does have some heft to it....but with a $20 dollie from Northern tool modified with a bottle mount and a 40 cu.ft of argon it can be done......have you looked at the new passport + from Miller....I know you had asked about the older one with your sg..... it would run ya about $400 more than the HH210 and sg.......
