ok i recently purchased a tank from a distributor and i bought it for my mig and it is 3/4 argon ans 1/4 co2 so could i switch this out to my tig welder . and if not why cant i use c02 to tig weld with.

That is c-25 or 74/25 and no you can't use it on your Tig machine. INSTEAD OF ANSWERING THE QUESTION EXCEPT" NO", TRY IT FOR YOURSELF AND THEN YOU WILL SEE FOR YOURSELF John

Joe the oxygen in CO2 would ruin the weld. The whole idea behind using TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), is that it uses an inert gas...CO2 is not inert. C25 gas is 75% argon and 25% CO2, they call it C25 for short, and it is for MIG

in your case i'm sure it's d!ck juice, i may be a lot of things, azzhole, pr!ck, etc. but at least i answer the questions, may not be what they want to hear, but i share my knowledge.

as stated above, CO2 is an active gas, technically using C25 to GMAW is MAG welding 'Metal Active Gas'. because of this the CO2 dissociates to CO & free O2 under the arc's influence, the free O2 will oxidize the tungsten, dropping WO2 into the pool contaminating the weld and eating your tungsten (just like chemical tungsten sharpener).
