Where did it go?

When did it go?

Who took it?

I just noticed it's a dead link now. Did many people here also frequent that site? They seemed like nice guys......

Been gone for some time now..... Craig seems to have had a $1,000 contest going on one of his other sites and got slammed with spam and split before he had to pay-up.....from what I have read he starts message boards hypes them up then sells them off......we should have seen it when the Lincolin thing first popped up.....it was a lossed cause after they started banning all the talented guys that had real world exp. and told it to ya like it is/was.....

It was a foolish endeavor to begin with. Competing with the Miller motrosports and Weld Talk boards is just plain stupid.

Not to denigrate the initiators of that site, but it was clear folly.

I would say that both aforementioned forums are scrambling to compete with ShopFloorTalk. That forum is the talent pool for the others...IMHO...

Denigrate all you want, Hank. They deserve that and more. DW had potential and got off to a good start for a few weeks. But then, the post nazi/mods kicked in and it became the posterchild forum of exactly how not to run a board and how to drive a board into the ground. I must say they were quite sucessful in that last one.

I agree with Moe, Hank. SFT has been going much stronger than Miller for a very long time and stronger than here of late, although the traffic here is picking up a good bit. There is a good bit of room for other boards. The web is a big place.

I really dig SFT, but I'm a lurker there. I have so little to offer and don't want to post when I don't have all my facts. This site is more suited to me as a beginner. I know my stuff in my field for what I do, but for what I want to know, I'm not quite there yet...if that makes sense? I was warming up to DW but haven't been there for weeks. I guess that ship sailed without me..........

I stfu and learn, but when the chance comes up where I can pipe in and post some knowledge I do.

I swear, if there's some crap about my field I can rock the knowledge.

LOL :D

Please don't ever feel you will be ridiculed or talked down to at SFT. We are respectful of everyone regardless of talent. I for one have tons of welding equipment but weld rarely anymore so I look and listen myself.

We don't just talk werlding there, any and all discussions welcome. You have a talent I'm sure, jump in and share it.

I come here daily but don't post much. I will when I can contribute though.

What I have said is not an attempt to hijack a member from this forum, rather to suggest more places to visit....
