I have a 135 handler and started experiencing wire feed problems. Thru the board (forum), it was suggested I replace the PTC1 component on the PCB. I ordered it from DigiKey and replaced it myself.
I was all excited last night and put the board back in and all the wiring and fired her up. I was a little worried since as soon as I plugged it in, I heard a humming sound and the main power switch was on the "off" position. I think that my wiring is correct and am wondering what might cause the unit to be "on" with the power switch turned off. I turned the switch on and pulled the trigger and nothing happens, just the humming sound. The fan does not turn on either. I had the nozzle and tip off off of the gun and the tip of the gun touched the ground clamp and it sparked (with the power switch on and off). Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

CR

This is a Hobart web-site, I think you should ask them. John

rivera,

The CR1 relay on that same board is stuck closed. Replace the relay or the board and you will be back in business.

Keith:

I could not locate the part number anywhere. Would you have it?

Thanks again.

There's a lot of vendors for this relay. It's a very common relay and can be found from popular manufacturers such as Tyco, Omron, etc.

Here's the Tyco spec sheet:

http://relays.tycoelectronics.com/datasheets/T90N_DS.pdf

You can find it at www.digi-key.com as follows:

http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?name=PB105-ND

I use digi-key quite a bit for my single component needs. They have quite an assortment. You can link to manufacturer's specs and also see price and availability.
