Making several feet of ornamental fencing. What is the best way to weld/braze cast iron finials to 1/2 inch 16 ga square tubing? How about if I replace the tubing with 1/2 inch square stock?

Thanks,

Jack

I've done the exact same thing with .035 flux core. I've never had a peoblem with it.

I have welded many feet of ornamental fence and gates I have always used .035 wire with 75% 25% mix on tube and solid bar.
Never had any problems in the field I use 6010 or 7018 whatever is close at hand.

I've used 6013 and 7018 - finials to solid 1/2 inch round.

I mig weld my finials. 0.35 wire with c25 gas nothing special. I would use tubing. Solid would be too heavy.
