So I'm driving down my street and see one of my neighbors is throwing stuff out preparing to vacate his house, a "For Rent" sign in his lawn... In the pile, I noticed a handle and plastic case that appeared to be a jump-start pack.
Good, I could use another one of those... And it's trash day... So in the cover of 5AM darkness, I scooped it up and chucked it in the bed of my pickup.
Darn, that sucker's heavy... In the light of my tail lights, I noticed it said "24Volt" on it... Great. Must be one of those dual voltage guys... I hit a button on it and I heard a click inside as the "Power On" light came on... Charge indicator said weak charge.
This afternoon, after getting off of work, I took a closer look in the daylight and discovered I had a new welder.
Looks like the wirefeed still runs when I pull the trigger and turn the "Heat Control" knob...
Someone's replaced the ground clamp and the Gun says "Tweco" on it, but all the numbering is rubbed off... Since this is a gasless, I know I don't need an outer shield gas nozzle on the gun, but it appears there's threading for it... What'd go there? Those threads are banged up and there was no nozzle, just the contact tip.
Think it's worth picking up a new gun for?
Trash collection came through and took the pile. :( I need to rig up a furnace transformer and some diodes to charge it up.
