Anybody use one, likes or dislikes. The price is right $69 at Menards. Or are their better deals around.
Thanks Jim

What process will you be using the hood for? How much welding do you do?
If all you are doing is the occasional hobbyist welding those little cheapie jobs from menards, tractor supply, Big R, whatever will be fine. as for durability, I had a friend with another off brand hood from Big R and it quit workin within weeks after the warranty was up, or rather there was a huge black splotch in the corner of the screen.
It's a matter of opinion but if you plan on using it for a lot of continuous welding, I think you should consider getting a good adjustable lens from miller or hobart, which are usually around $175 retail, but check e-bay.
the non-adjustable lenses are usually only shade 10. Some people are fine with that but I personally can't use them cuz I need to run around 12 or 13. (just sensitive eyes) Or You could of course wear shaded safety glasses.
Either way, if you're not sure this hood will stand up to your application, go over kill. Protect your eyes.

Sammy,
Same Eye protection from both Hoods:) Go Overkill for Comfort and Features.
I still have my HF hood but use an Optrel because I needed/wanted to go lighter in the shade and I thought the Grind mode was cool- which I never used until I got a Plasma:rolleyes:
- I do only have a 120v machine so I'm at 8:D
and it will go down further iffin' I ever get a Tig.
