Yeah, I know I've already praised this unit a while back.

Anyway, I'm working on completing a frame work for holding my wife's rabbits cages. The frame work is constructed out of 1/8" angle with a little 1/8" flat bar for gussets. Well, I was feeling lazy, and didn't want to drag out my extension cord to run the HH 187, so I grabbed the HH 125 EZ, and plug it into the dedicate 120V circuit under my carport, that my landlord ran for running my power tools. For this application (1/8" steel) I'm still very impressed with how well this simple unit performs. With .030 wire its definitely a nice 1/8" fluxcore unit. I still find the ease of operation factor makes it an addictive unit to run. Well, that is as long as you don't have an issue with fluxcore.

Thought I'd mention too, that I ran out of .030 Hobart Fab 23, and had to try a roll of .030 Forney from the hardware store. Fab 23 is definitely a much nicer wire, it runs noticably smoother and produces very little spatter. The spatter isn't terrible with the Forney. The Forney is acceptable enough, that i won't chuck it. I'll use it today to finish up on the stand. Once the roll is gone though, I won't buy another.

I wondered about the Forney wire, I'm thinking of buying the Hobart 140. I have been usin my olcheapo Lincoln, and Forney rod there works good, as compared to fleetweld or KT. Not many options in this little town.

The .030 Forney solid wire I 've tried, produces very good results from my HH 187, MM 210, or ESAB Migmaster 250.

Honestly, the roll of .030 fluxcore I picked up, is an OK wire. Like I stated though, Hobart's .030 Fabshield 23 is noticably better.
