:mad:Have a miller spectrum 625 plasma cutter
has been a great unit for the last 37 months
in the process of making a cut on 1/4 plate and it just shuts down, no lights nothing, I have got power all the way through the switch and to the PC board but not sure what to check next.
local airgas service center says to replace the board, but at $1000.00 thats a littel much, got to be something more to check than just replacing the board

I have had my Miller Matic35 for over 20 years with out one bit of trouble.
cant belive one month out of waranty its toste

THANKS for any help:confused::confused:

Try completely disassembling the tip and its components, then reassemble with new parts. I'll get the same symptoms on my Riland if this one part inside the tip gets just a little loose :)

I think I would ask this question on the MILLER site... perhaps one of their Tec's will give you some advice as to what step to check next

after placing this same thread over on the Miller talk group, I got a reply from Rick, he is a miller rep and I gave him a call and even though it was out of warranty, Miller is going to pay for the parts to fix my 625, what more could you ask for, in today’s world of compaction from China and Japan Miller stands behind their products :D:D:D

THANKS go to

I think that is where companies like Miller, Hobart, Hypertherm, etc are going to hold aces over the Chinese. I will buy Chinese at Harbor Fright and pay HF prices for it...and I believe you get what you pay for.

I would rather buy USA to begin with and feel that if you buy from top companies you will get top service.
