View Full Version : Welder goes to max amps sometimes

Sometimes after starting the welder (model Mega Arc 300D) it goes to maximum power. The governor opens up and it works hard. This only hapens sometimes. The only setting to stop it is at 15 amps and arc force of 1.
What could be wrong as it needs fixing. The voltages appear correct according to the manual. Thanks Johno

A PCB? I had a trailblazer that did that. :D

I had the same problem with an old Hobart transformer machine[mega arc 400].The electrician said it had a bad[SCR].I dont have a clue what that is.Havent got the machine back yet.
