I've been looking at the IronMan 210 recently.

I read the excellent thread on this forum about the IronMan 250 and was wondering if you guys could provide a similar review for me for the IronMan 210. That's great information.

How does it stack up against similar welders?

Thanks,

UW

At 150 amps, 23 volts, and 40% duty cycle, the MM212 sounds so much better (160 amps at 24.5 volts with a 60% duty cycle) that the difference in cost seems moot.

IM210 owners don't say much on here about them. To be fair, I've not heard a negative report, either. Still, the MM212 is a lot more welder.

Hank beat me to it. Keep in mind the HH210 has portability, only weighs something like 76 lbs.

UW,
I had someone asking me this same question today. I wonder what the chances are it could be the same person. Whats you location.

It reminds me of a MM-185 in many ways. neither one will Match up to a 212 but they are good machines either way. Cost is always the biggest issue that comes up. I could be happy if the price was right. I owned a MM- 185 and test drove a Hobart IM 210 using .030 wire. I also have a HH-210 somewhere.;) (ups waste land / landfill ???) I kind of like a underdog anyway so take my advice with a grain of salt.:)

I use the Ironman 230 plasma welder. I have no problems with it. The machine is pretty heavy, comes on casters.

I never saw any negatives about them either. I looked hard but jumped on the HH210 because it fit me better all around. It always "seemed like" with the IM210 you got a good machine..no doubt..especially for the $$ spent. BUT..if ya had more $$ to go to the MM210 ( more power/cycle and $$) and now of course the MM212.

I'd think with all the "upgrades" on the 250 and under size of machines...the IM210 is due for an "upgrade"...soon!

I'm just a hobbiest, but I've never had any trouble with mine and I have no problem recommending one at the right price. I paid $934 at Tractor Supply, but that was before the HH210 came out. I suspect that if I were buying today I would get the HH210 unless the IM210 was a bargain.

That we do! Strange world we live in where a guy gets on a computer in California, logs into a forum hosted/provided by a mid west welding equipment manufacturer and talks to a guy that lives 30 miles away. :)

I have no issues with my HH250. I really like it.
