Like the Michelin Man . And the Sinclair Dino !
Infact I'm convinced that Dealers cary-ing Hobart products need a Neon Sparky over their store or in the front window.
So much that I had my son work up a couple of Neon concepts that would lend to production Neon sign-bending......
Around here welding supply stores are (?camoflauged? spelling?) by rows of other small shops in obscure little industrial parks.

The current logo reminds me of "Talk to the hand!" So I hope for Sparky's "I'll be back!":rolleyes:

Ok, I see him, too, but I use FireFox for a browser, and he shows up behind some links on the lower right corner. Still, ghost or not, he should take his rightful place on the top of the screen!

That must be one of the rare images showing him stick welding, usually you see him with a mig gun!;)

This is actually a back patch, 8" x 8" used on the shop coats of Hobart techs of yesteryear...don't know the exact dates, tho.

Sparky was a little depressed what with the re-org at the Hobart Forums and all, so Hank sent him some водка to help him through and he went on a bender... and not a Hossfeld bender, either! :eek:

That was easy, the b&w image is on the front page of every (?) Hobart manual. I downloaded one, made a screenshot of the logo in a decent size and added the Hobart orange where it belongs. Done. Btw, the logo on the manuals seems to be a vector graphic. Even at 6400% the lines are smooth.
Kirch-Göns didn't ring a bell to me, but Google saved the day by telling me that Kirch-Göns is a small part of Butzbach, an allready small town - even by German standards - near Frankfurt. Guess you were a soldier back in the sixties?
And you still know how to write an "ö" with a US layout keyboard!

I was an Army weldor in an armored infantry outfit...I got there just a year or so after Elvis left Butzbach...I ran into some folks who knew him then. The most beautiful country I have ever seen, even from a deuce-and-a-half.
ö=alt 148 :)

Considering the creature comfort provided by that truck you highly appreciated the fact that Germany is a country of short distances, right?
At least compared to the U.S. ... ;)

This is a 2 months old thread, dude...when it was started, Sparky was taken from the top of the page, and replaced by the glove, then at the bottom, he wasn't visible in all browsers, but they fixed that.
