Got a 1972 Landcruiser in average condition, no rust, no accidents. Original engine, 1975 seats, fuel tank, etc. 8000# warn winch. Approx 90,000 miles. Any ideas on value?
Thanks, Jim Finley

Wouldn't this engine require "leaded" gass , or at least an addative ????????

sell it on yotatech, or pirate4x4 for a grand.
depends on which engine it happens to be (The eldest i6 is a somewhat GM copy), but no.

A grand is all it's worth? Seems like it should be worth more than that if it's running and in reasonable condition. I've heard nothing but good things about these old Landcruisers.

it'd probably be worth abit more to someone that *wanted* one.
why not offer it for a couple of grand obo (or best offer).

Nice try. They regularly bring $5000-$8000 around here depending on degree of rust.

Yeah, I thought so but wasn't sure. I know the old Broncos are fetching that much and probably more these days.

You could get anywhere from 5-12k for it depending on condition. The best place for Land Cruiser info is www.ih8mud.com.

A jeep or jeep owner can never ever touch a landcruiser. They are sweet. Please post some pics bud, I have a love affair with the toyota!

The engine isnt a copy of the GM "straight six" it is Toyota's own deisgn known as the F, 1F, 2F, 3Fz,E

Those are the standard US cruiser engines.

I had to sell my 1978 FJ40, I will own another one someday. Right now I am sporting the Toyota Mini-truck!:D

No chance you would like to sell that winch would you? Is it a 8274?

Yeah! Lets see it! Pics

A grand sounds good! Where are you located?

No seriously, these old iron pigs can fetch a pretty penny if they are in nice shape. If you are serious about selling it you can always get an apraisal done. I have had one done for insurance reasons and it only cost me about $60. The apraiser will find out the local value of it (as well as Kelly Blue Book value) and give you a more accurate value as a dude over the web.

As far as durability goes for these rides FORGHETTABOUT IT!!!!! Ever see the TOP GEAR hilux video over at Utube???

And yeah the engine is a copy of a straight 6 chevy even to some part interchangeability.

Is it an FJ40 or an FJ55? (2 door or 4 door?)

If its clean and all stock it will bring quite a bit on the Nat. market. Take lots of photos of it and post some of them up. Again stocker the better for resale.

ih8mud.com is the best board for a stocker.

If you are in Oregon, let me take a look at it! :D

I just sold my 1964 Nissan Patrol (like the Landcruiser) but 1 of less than 2000 imported for the $2000. I had in it. It was actually noce with lots of extra parts, ran like a fine watch, started every time without hassle and was original drivetrain front to back. Even had the original rear wheel well seats stuffed with straw for padding. Land Cruisers are great too, bring about 5K in really nice shape here.
