I have a chance to buy a off-brand winch for my samurai but Ive never heard of this
Speedway brand. Any one heard of this thing? 5000 pound cap. and looks ok.$150.00. I dont really want to spend 5-6-hundred on a top brand, I only paid 1000 for the truck.

5000lb should be plenty for a samurai i think i saw one by a company called bigroc from MAXTOOL that was 10,000 lbs but i think it was about $300. I think if you take care of this cheaper winches(such as keeping them out of the elements) they work pretty good. As for the Warn 9000 that i have its been out in the elements for going on 6 years and it works for me every time i need it. Which thankfully is not to often.

Speedway is Homier's house brand.

In my experience I have found Homier stuff to be even cheaper than Harbor Freight. I have a Harbor Freight 8000 # winch and I am satisfied with it. They go for $300 in the store last time I checked.
I say go for the winch. At that price you can buy three, lol, and swap them out when they go bad.
I would be very interested to hear how it works for you. Also, I don't remember seeing this winch the last time Homier had a sale in my area. Are they selling them on their website, or is this something that you could expect to find at one of their big warehouse sales?

I bought it from a guy who had a few of them, he had a shop a while ago and bought a bunch.I'll give a report on it when I install. do a few fake "recovers" to test it before I really need it.

You could buy 4 and mount them on all 4 corners of your truck and look real important.think of the convenace of having dual winches on the front or back.If your winching on a hill and run out of winch line you could leave the short one holding the truck while you unreel the second winch.
